Description
Cuphea Hyssopifolia is increasingly available in garden centres. Exotic Cuphea looks like the tropical native it is. It loves hot, humid weather and will bloom all summer, some types producing cool little tubular flowers in red-hot colours that give it one of its common names – cigar flower. Cupheas grow best when they are planted in full, bright sun but are quite happy to have periods of light shade during the heat of the afternoon.
It is used for borders, beds or edgings along walkways and paths. The dense and low growing plant makes a beautiful low maintenance ground cover The distance of planting should be 9 in c/c.
