Description

Tillandsia is either epiphytic (tree-dwelling) or lithophytic (rock-dwelling). They are extremely hardy air plants. Silvery-green leaves that deepen in color as they grow and extend; and adorable round shape.

For the most part, the plants can tolerate a wide range of temperatures. Temperatures from 32 to 10 degrees Celsius or 90 to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.  Tillandsia has other benefits and properties. The plants contain properties that have been used to inhibit pollen-related allergies.

The Tillandsia plant is easy to take care of and thus gained in popularity over the years as an indoor pot plant. Its colloquial term “air plant” derives from the fact that it thrives without needing much water and nutrients. With its trichomes, it can fully independently filter minerals and absorb moisture from the air. That is how they effortlessly survive without needing much water.
